Our work also takes us to schools, colleges and universities where we speak to students about the issues of litter and plastic pollution and how through leveraging small steps by many, we can all make a real impact. One Piece A Day is a partner of the TDSB (Toronto District School Board) and other school boards having reached thousands of students with the urgency and gravity of the ocean plastic issue (humanity consumes 1 million plastic bottles every single minute, 91% of which are not recycled, and 32% of which end up in our oceans annually). A cornerstone of our work is empowering global youth with a message that simple steps by many such as picking up one piece of litter a day, and saying NO to single use plastic, can change the world.
